Jewels

This is a rosemary beetle. On my lavender plant, which appear to taste as nice a rosemary. They are called a pest but I find them very beautiful with their iridescent wing cases. They are mating so hopefully their kids turn out to behave themselves.

We also saw a small hedgehog in the garden this evening. I hope he will grow enough to be able to overwinter safely. There is room under the woodpile!
