Volcano

This is a view of Croscat volcano near Santa Pau, it is interesting for the strata that are revealed from quarrying over many years, for road bottoming and landscape work.

Croscat is just one of the many in the Garrotxa region of Catalonia, near Olot. They are all easily accessible and provide many walks. Sta Margarita is another, famous for the 17 th C church actually built in the crater itself. That one is a bit of a tough slog ,uphill all the way, but worth it at the end.
