Abbey ruins

This Cistercian abbey was run by monks with an Abbot in charge between 1100-1300. Then along came Henry and ordered the destruction of so many lovely working buildings.
Bordesley Abbey was worked on for many Summers by a team of archeologists led by a Professor from Reading University, and the items/stones were kept and eventually put together.
As with most things the money ran out to continue this project. We used to enjoy seeing the tents and caravans with many students beavering away each summer.
