MONO MONDAY - PASTIME

Pastime: an activity that someone does regularly for enjoyment rather than work; a hobby.

Most of you will know that I enjoy knitting – or rather I did, until my “trigger finger” started playing up.  I haven’t done very much knitting for a while, but thought that I could take a shot of my half-finished fingerless gloves and make it mono for today’s challenge.

It doesn’t look anywhere near as good as the original though – in fact, these are actually green and yellow and are for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance volunteers so that their hands don’t get cold in the winter when they go out to shows and have to use their iPads out in the open.

The work started on our drive this morning but sadly it has been raining for quite some time so you can imagine all the mess! Not only that, but when they were breaking up the concrete part of it sheared off our Virgin Media cable with the result that we do not have any telephone or Internet access so I’m having to upload this on my iPhone.

We do have Freeview, but I don’t think there’s much on the television this evening, so I will probably read or do some knitting - and I daresay Mr. HCB will carry on with his jigsaw puzzle or we may even talk to each other! ;-)

“In the 19th century, knitting was prescribed to women
as a cure for nervousness and hysteria.
Many new knitters find this
sort of hard to believe because,
until you get good at it,
knitting seems to cause those ailments.”
