Combs Wattles and Feathers

Hens tend to favour roosters with a long red comb with tall points. Evenly formed wattles and and long spurs are also must-haves. Long, shiny and colourful hackle and saddle feathers are used when a rooster puffs up and displays for a hen. It’s all about genetic destiny. Outward appearance provides the glimpse into the future. Who knew? Sounds a bit like the human race too. I’m not sure if this fellow is a ladies man but I found him to be quite sweet. DeMille’s Farm Market.
