Beautiful Kittens!

Today was KITTENDAY!

We set an alarm, unusually for a holiday Sunday, got up, sorted a cat box, then waited for our friend Jane to arrive.

Then the three of us set off to Beth's house in Wales to collect kittens!

The story runs thus:
Beth had booked her cat Vixie in to be spayed in the autumn and was keeping her inside the house. However, Vixie had other ideas, snuck out the door when nobody was looking, and went missing for a week. When she came home, she was with kittens!

Following the deaths of Dexter, Pebbles and Smudge, we'd decided not to do anything hasty about getting more cats, but were starting to get edgy.

And then there were kittens!

So we said we'd like to have the 2 girls, who we named Mavrud (after a Bulgarian wine) and Tokaji (after a Hungarian wine).

Jane said she'd like one of the boys, who she named Douglas.

A friend on the internet named the other boy Carson, after the butler on Downton Abbey, since he looks a bit like a butler with his black and white outfit.

Carson didn't find a home for ages. Several people wanted him, but husbands and other-halves said no.

The Wonderspouse didn't say no.

So Carson came too!

And we have three gorgeous little bundles of boingy kitteny joy. Mavrud is the tabby, Tokaji the tabby and white, and Carson the black and white!
