Get out!

This was the stage we were given to work with on our arrival at Herts Police HQ canteen for a pop-up version of Aladdin. How we came up with the name "pop-up" I have no idea, because trust me nothing just popped up!
I have to say it was a massive learning curve doing this show - Lynda, Richard and I had a mini-after-show gathering and debriefed alot. All in all we really enjoyed it. The techies got to play with their toys, the actors got to perform, the whole group worked as team and in the face of much adversity we pulled it off.
We had to get replacements for Sweet and Aladdin as the originals were not available for this show.
We had a couple of chorus playing the guards. One got ill and had to drop out the day before the show. Allanah was a blooming trooper and took the script home on Saturday night, and came back on Sunday knowing all the lines!
Then the replacement Aladdin got the norovirus. On the morning of the show. (Apparently the phrase "sh*t the bed" no longer makes her smile.)
So we rang around everyone we could think of who has a bit of nouse about them to find a replacement. We failed. My husband was on standby.
And then - hoorah! - our chairman cancelled his rehearsal for the day and hot footed over to WGC with an hour and a quarter notice and did it. He blooming did it!
We loved it, the audience loved it, the organisers loved it.
I am happy, and proud, and oh my goodness so tired!
