Venice - day 8

Sadly we had to say “arriverderci” to Venice today. As we were flying to Manchester not Leeds we were able to have a leisurely breakfast as it was a later flight. Said a sad goodbye to the owners, but they said “ You will be back. If Venice captures your heart she never lets go”. First Alilaguna boat was full, but we still got to the airport in good time - it has been totally refurbished since I was here in 2017, and security is much more efficient. 30 minute delay as only one runway in operation, but time made up in the air. Landed on time in Manchester and our driver was waiting. Then there were 3 crashes on the horrible M62 - 4 hour journey home! Could have gone to Venice and back again! Off on another adventure shortly, so washing and ironing to be done!
