Happy the Man

A woodland carving in the pines glades at Cragside, near Rothbury. It is well carved, but I haven't got a clue what it is supposed to represent, if anything at all. Perhaps some kind of woodland spirit or sprite. He has an unattended mushroom growing from his nose for added authenticity and his teeth look as if they could do with some dental attention.
