Sunset over Epsom Downs

It's our last evening in Surrey for a while, and we walked from our hotel across the Downs to the restaurant that used to be our Friday evening end of week reward. Our friend still works there, so it felt just like old times. The sun was setting for the return walk, and today's blip is the sunset behind the grandstands of Epsom racecourse. We used to go racing occasionally, you don't need to spend money to have a great time - we would park the car at Tattenham Corner and walk to the course, find a spot by the railings, and watch the horses thunder past - it's a sensory experience, the noise of the hooves and the way the ground echoed thump of hooves hitting turf. We have very happy memories of our time living here, but tomorrow we go home again with no regrets.
