A Treat...

What a gorgeous sunny day we have had. I finished work at lunchtime and off I went for a walk. I wasn't expecting to see four adult whooper swans on my local reservoir however! It seems there has been a small influx of them today - about a month earlier than they are normally expected. I watched & listened to their gentle whooping and then they flew off. 
Next I walked around local reservoir number 2 - not far from reservoir number 1. I found 2 great caterpillars (elephant hawk moth & poplar hawk moth) and then was delighted to see the lovely whoopers at the inlet at the bottom end of the reservoir. I watched & listened again, then after a while they flew off. A treat! #lovewhoopers
