Colorado Sparkling Diamonds

At Button Rock Preserve in Lyons, CO, I hiked, took some photos, breathed in fresh, cold mountain air, and drew energy into my core from the strength of the mountains surrounding me. I'm going to post some photos again. This is the black and white time of the year, so if I carry my pocket camera around with me, I'll find scenes to photograph, and be intentional about finding beauty during this season. This photo is very simple. The powdery Colorado snow sparkles like diamonds in the full son. All around the diamonds shimmer and sparkle when they catch ths son's rays. Reminds me of Judy Collins' song "Colorado." After a heavy snow storm, she sings about driving on the Peak to Peak Hwy, and the snow "sparkles like diamonds." Just beautiful.
