Moving Into The Unknown

Sherman

I met Sherman this morning and we talked for quite awhile.  Living on the streets for the last 7 years hasn't been easy.  Sherman told me that he had a stroke about 8 years ago, making a quick gesture with his hand to indicate "the switch" as he called it.  "Things got harder after the switch," he said.

With the soul of a poet he fought for his words, each one carefully pulled from the darkness of his post-switch mind.  Sherman encouraged me to come back for a visit, promising he'd tell me more about his life, if I was interested.  I'm interested and have the feeling I'll be back to hear the rest of the poem.  Thanks for sharing, Sherman.
