Sun, Tees and icecream

A restless night as the room was very hot. We couldn't open the windows more than 4 inches and as several wasps got in yesterday we kept the window closed. When Mike looked at the thermometer it was 30 degrees. Poor Fletch found it hard..panting and very restless..so ..we were kept awake a lot too.
But woke to a room flooded with sunlight. Another beautiful day.
Poor Fletch could hardly walk at first. Limping badly..I think the Steep hill at Staithes finished him off . He limped downstairs and he walked slowly across the lawn.. then a pheasant flew by and Fletch was running after him like a bullet. I had to give chase because I didn't want him either getting lost in the woods or ending up in the lake. Obviously his poorly leg was not too bad.
Our last morning. Service at breakfast was remarkably effecient .Much better than yesterday.
En route home we paused at Teeside airport..my old college was alongside there. Strange to see some of the familiar buildings..and to see most had been demolished.
Another stop at Brough Castle. Toasted tea cakes, good coffee and some of their ice-cream. Warm enough to sit in the sun..and share my cone with Fletch.
A pleasant drive back with no hold ups.
Felt really cold in the house..back to normal temperature of 17 degrees..I need my fleece.
Thanks for the stars and comments.
