I finally worked out how to remove enough of the stove to sweep the flue. A fair bit of soot but no tar. Ready now to tackle the more complicated flues.

The thunder did not materialise but steady rain fell for an hour mid morning. Delicious smells rising from the parched ground.

I have a fear of losing the chimney brush head in the flu. Is there a word for this
