Widows and Bairns

A beautiful sculpture in memory of the great storm of 1881 when 189 fishermen from the Berwickshire coast lost their lives.
78 widows and 182 fatherless children were left to fend for themselves.
This sculpture represents s real person who survived. Each face is different. Very evocative piece of work.
