Thruscross Reservoir

Thanks so much for all the best wishes over the knee. It's even prompted friends who I don't often see to call asking after me, which has been very touching. Cheers A. But now I feel like a bit of a fraud because the swelling went down enough overnight to allow me to get out on the bike. The further I went the better it felt and I ended up doing a hilly 30 miler. The knee now feels great and I've been running up and down the stairs at home in celebration.

I have to admit to feeling a bit out of sorts yesterday, bogged down with work and not making much progress. I didn't feel in much better spirits this morning, but now I feel quite envigorated. This exercise thing is so important to me. I fear I'm addicted to those endorphines.

There was a lot of hill fog around today, which made for some great photographic opportunities. It's not been an easy choice to make as to which shot to blip, but I settled on this in the end as I think it best characterises the eeriness of the mist, here enshrouding the reservoir at Thruscross. I abandoned the bike here to take a short stroll along this path. If it wasn't for the difficulty of walking in my cleats I would probably have ended up going all the way around. It was bleakly beautiful.

I'm not sure how many people noticed the wording in the shop window of yesterday's blip. I hadn't until Veronica pointed it out, and I must admit that it prompted me to change the title (to get some cheap laughs), but as soon as I saw it in print I immediately realised it was inappropriate for the shot, and possibly the site, and changed it back. I think only a handful of people got to see it. I'm afraid I'm no Ruby Jones!
