The Old Forge (Sunday 15th September 2019)
Diary Blip. The Virginia Creeper planted against the outbuilding wall on the driveway last year has finally started attaching itself to the wall and climbing.
In other news, there were two long-tailed tits, a blue tit and a great tit on the bird feeders today. Blue tits are relatively common in the garden but the only other tits that normally like the peanuts are the resident coal tits and their young.

Tony Joe White - A Night in the Life of a Swamp Fox (recorded 1-12 December 1970, Sounds of Memphis Studio and Ardent Recording Studio, Memphis TN)
Although Tony Joe White is best remembered now for writing Steamy Windows and Rainy Night In Georgia and for writing and recording Polk Salad Annie, which Elvis Presley later recorded, he had a career over a number of decades with his Louisiana based brand of swamp rock, indeed he was known as the Swamp Fox. Cerys Matthews had a fox theme running through her Sunday show and chose this gem from his self-titled fourth album, released in 1971, and produced by Peter Asher (brother of Jane and formerly of Peter and Gordon). In England it was also released as a single.
