Falls of Morar and Rail bridge

We headed in to Mallaig but decided against the ferry to Rhum as the forecast was for choppy seas. It would have meant 5 hours at sea and as a fellow Blipper remarked “better on land wishing you were at sea than the other way round “!

We bought the last Guardian in the town and some tasty multigrain bread then headed back to our site. We have booked 2 extra nights here and will try again for Rhum on Wednesday when the total time st sea is 2 hours 40 minutes with 4.5 hours on the island as it doesn’t go via Eigg.

Then we headed to Morar where we left the van by the Silver Sands and then walked up past these falls, under the bridge which we’d gone over many years ago on the Hogwarts Express (it was too windy that day #2 daughter and I decided for the Murnos Mr C had planned). No chance now of doing that on spec - it is full of tour trips.

I remembered doing a D of E walk along the Loch when at school then getting the boat back from Tarbert. We only did 5 miles as my arthritic foot was really sore so got nowhere near the boat. However it was good to get a walk and it didn’t rain.
