The Field Behind the House

The field behind our house has had broad beans grown in it this year. The farmer told me it was for high protein food supplement, whether for cattle or people , I'm not sure.
The beans had become very black and dried out looking . I wondered if they had forgotten about them. 
This big harvesting machine is going around cutting them and spitting out dried stalks from its rear end. Clever eh?
The driver does not have a full head of white hair as it appears in the photo, he seems to have a handkerchief tied over his hair, probably to keep out  the dust. 
Shortly after this the buzzards started circling overhead squealing loudly. They must have spotted all the little ( now homeless) small mammals and gathered to investigate the dining opportunities.
