Slime mould

Mary and Jane spotted this yesterday and they took me for a look today.  As some smart blippers pointed out yesterday, its proper name is Fuligo septica. It's not a fungus as we thought but a slime mould with common names including scrambled egg slime, flowers of tan and my favourite, dog vomit slime mold. They are single called organisms only visible when they gather together like this to search for food or produce spore.
