"I Search"

This reminds me of kids' I Search books (which my very quick Google search suggests may be a figment of my imagination). Anyway, it's got everything up there: Jacob the Wonder Dog, races (past and future), political and social buttons, zombies, teaching /learning theory, friends, music, cycling, family, and lots of memories (specific and generalized).

It also reminds me of the film class I took in my senior year of high school. My favorite day of the whole year was when we discussed miss-en-scene. We watched sweeping camera shots from Ferris Bueller and Silence of the lambs, wrote our own scene-settiing background descriptions, and thought critically about what we would say to set up our identity based on our bedrooms. I'm the kind of person who will generally spend far more time in preamble than in making any specific point. I love to create context. The idea that this was something other people (professional story-tellers, not less) did knocked my socks off. I was an easily impressed seventeen-year-old.

Anyway,

today I:

waited for other people,
(pretty much everyone I cam in contact with)

counted to ten,

had real conversations with real people,

went to both the farmers' market and a discount grocery monstrosity,
(which was an exercise in extremes, crowds, and people-watching)

monkeyed around in a parking lot,

ordered a massive amount of prints,
(now I need to figure out what to do with them)

hid in my room,

got Jacob the Wonder Dog to jump through hoops,
(and shake, and jump, and high five, and "up", and "place")

and

utterly failed to either run or cycle.
