Odd Day
Yesterday felt like a Sunday due to what we got up to (including a roast lunch), so today doesn't feel like anything really. No football on TV, no gaming (self-imposed break for the weekend) and no commitments. I even did a bit of work this morning :)
So I suggested we drive down to Ashbourne for a saunter after lunch. What did we learn from this? Not much is open in Ashbourne on a Sunday.
Anyway, a quick play in the park and a bit of fresh air (albeit grey and foggy) was welcome. We were planning to maybe stop off on the way home for bit of country walking, but we came over the brow of a hill to see something with a light laying in the road. It took a few moments to realise it was a motorbike...... heart leapt a bit, must have happened mere moments before.
Luckily, both riders were OK, although very shaken. Looked like the back end had slipped out on some roadpaint and they'd hit the side and been thrown off (at over 50mph according to the rider!). Poor passenger - it was her first time on a bike too. Her visor had been smashed off and the rider's jacket was ripped to shreds; both helmets showed a lot of damage. A great advert for safety equipment though, as there were no broken bones or gushing blood. We checked them over and stayed with them for about 20 mins until we were happy they were OK and left them waiting for his father and a trailer. Could have been so much worse.
This was actually a test shot to see what settings I was going to use for a shot of the girls, but following uploading I kind of like it a lot more than the purposefully shot images I came back with. A bit of rare colour to counter the grey day.
