Old and New defences

Todays walk took us to the local beach and I was amazed by the amount of coastal erosion in past year.  No so long a go these world war 2 Pill boxes were on the top of the cliff.  In the distance is one of the Napoleonic Martello Tower defences that has been standing for over 200 years albeit no protected with rock reinforced sea defences to prevent it from succumbing to the same fate as the pill boxes.
