Alf’s 17th today. Needless to say he’s been itching to learn to drive. We’ve booked him some lessons but I thought it was a good idea to take him out first, get him familiar with clutch control etc.

After a little practise on the drive, we drove to a fairly quiet stretch of road and I let him take control. 4 or 5 runs up and down and he’s really getting the hang of it. I’d forgotten how much there is to get your head round, I’m sure it’ll be second nature for him by the end of the weekend.

When the girls got home he opened his presents, then we went into Cambridge for dinner, I’m pretty sure he’s had a good day.
