From ownership to access

This Apple dock used to be the link to all of my media. Today it is little more than a charger for my iPhone when I am at my desk.

I get all my music now via Spotify via wifi.

I think it is fascinating how we are moving from 'ownership of' content to 'access to' it. I also think we are happy to pay for that. We are happy with what we get and what we pay for it.

I thought it funny how recently people moaned about Instagram taking ownership of people's content yet many of the same people no doubt share via peer to peer a musicians work.

We humans are contrary though. I still like getting my films in an envelope from LoveFilm.
