Behind you!
There are times when it may be good not to have eyes in the back of one's head!
In case you are worried, I did not take Mum to a nail bar today, but I did take her to the optician in Durham. He was excellent and tested Mum's eyes for her. He also had a close look at the ptosis loops and said they needed to be at a different angle to work. They were adjusted and the specs have come home to be tried out.
He had other ideas about how to improve Mum's vision, one of which is to use one eye only for watching TV. The other lens would be opaque and this would remove the need to use prisms. If it works she could have a separate pair of specs for embroidery too.
It was all very encouraging. You can see in the photo how Mum's drooping eyelids prevent her from seeing properly.
In other news, I worked flat out to complete the joining instructions for the walking festival. I made a poster to advertise the social evening too.
The drive too and from Durham in the late afternoon was slow and the roads very busy. We must try to avoid going at that time of day again.
