Golden Sky

I didn't turn out the lights until the wee hours of the night without having closed the blinds.  I never did when I lived alone but mom always took it upon herself to close them every night.  I was glad I left them open. I could see the star-filled sky.  That made me smile and relaxed enough to fall asleep.

The sun rises from that direction over the mountains. I woke up as the day was breaking. It wasn't a typical sunrise; rather, the sky was brimming with gold.
