Grand old Lady

This magnificent machine is on display in Gerona to commemorate the 150 year anniversary of the railways arrival from St Feliu in March 1862.

The engine was one of four built to run on this line, this particular one built by Kraus and Co in Germany in 1891.

Next year the AVI opens, promising Madrid in four hours, Paris in 9 hours and the possibility of avoiding Ryanair for evermore by taking high speed trains direct to Scotland.
