Trees

Some of the trees are beginning to show signs of autumn colours to come but it was not this that caught our attention as we approached Nant Gwernol this morning. After a windy night a very large broken branch blocked the line not far from where this shot was taken. All guards vans carry emergency equipment including a large bow saw which the loco driver used to very good effect. With myself, my assistant and the fireman clearing the cut boughs we had the line clear in just under ten minutes. Here the slightly delayed train departs for Tywyn on what turned into a perfect early autumn day.
