What a day it turned out to be.

I knew the court decision was due this morning in the case about the legality of Johnson's suspension of the UK Parliament. Nothing much mattered after that news came through. 

It will go to the next appeal stage, but this result today is already an appeal decision, and from three senior judges. What is - I think - beyond doubt now is that Johnson and his cronies lied to or misled the Queen to get what they wanted. 

If it is overturned at the next stage it will because it was not illegal to do so. 

In other important news, 6 fresh mackerel landed on my desk this morning and I had 3 of them this evening. Fried, Pondicherry style thanks to a Rick Stein recipe. 

Pretty damned delicious.
