Carrot cake is not the answer ....

Yesterday Roland went to meet a family to discuss arrangements for a funeral ceremony that he is conducting for them. They live in a small village outside Norwich and after the meeting he had a stroll round the village as he had a bit of time to kill before he caught the bus back. He came across a roadside stall selling fresh vegetables, including 10 kilos of carrots for just £2! Bargain, and he didn't really care that he got a slightly funny look from the bus driver.

Wafting up the stairs is the smell of carrot cake baking. The recipe required just one large carrot. We have a lovely recipe for carrot and orange soup, which requires a few more carrots. But not 10 kilos.
