A Grayson Perry pot.

This was the first thing I saw in the marvellous Brighton Art Gallery and Museum. At first sight it portrays happy 1950s dressed children playing. Closer inspection shows mayhem in the background, fires, bombs - his comment on conflict and disaster.

There is a brilliant exhibition on just now in the archaeology gallery  about local finds relating to people who lived in this area thousands of years ago. Forensic examination has given us info on their diets, possible occupations, illnesses and deaths. The top section of the extra shows the current site of the bus station.

The other extra is of one of my favourite exhibits  relating back to the 1964 beach riots beteween the Mods and Rockers.
