Castle Howard

We had another trip to see another fine building today, along with a stop at a nearby model railway shop.  We toured round Castle Howard and the grounds in the morning.  The castle is still in private ownership and the family still live there.  Although we did learn that most of the estate has had to be sold over the years to pay for the upkeep of the main grounds and buildings. Today’s extra is of one of the dining rooms set for dinner.
