Gerberas Galore
Another day in Paradise dawned with cloudless skies. After walking the dogs early to avoid the heat I headed for the Sunday Farmers' Market, held in the A & P Assoc Park, to meet up with a friend for coffee. The market has a real country feel about it and is a great place to meet with friends and socialize whilst buying fresh produce. Like other Farmers' Market around the country, only produce produced by local growers is allowed to be displayed and sold on site. (Thus there is not a banana in sight). There is a wide range of stalls selling everything from free-range eggs, local wines, cheeses, pine-nuts, fish, meats, Marlborough olive oils (yum), vegetables and fruit in season, vegetable plants, herbs and locally cooked and baked foods (yum yum). Today there were blueberries, big juicy plums, strawberries and apricots amongst other scrumptious offerings. I have captured Melissa selling her glorious gerberas..all such vibrant colours. The Farmers' Market is not to be missed.
