Isambard, in the other mall

Stroud has two late 20th century malls. One, the 1970s Merrywalks, soon to be known as the Five Valleys shopping centre, is under reconstruction. I blip the works sporadically.

Imagine my surprise when I saw this full length poster of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, engineer behind the Great Western Railway and Stroud station's own Goods Shed (now an Arts venue) in a vacant shop in the Merrywalks. He should have been in Stroud's second mall! Why? Because it's the Brunel Mall. Created in the 1980s, it's never really taken off, but the top floor now houses the offices of the pan-disability charity, Allsorts.I was on my way there for some training, as it happened.

Good day at work, first day back with the children.
Also, the training afterwards at the Brunel mall was positively pleasant.
