Local Visitor
Sat on the beach outside. Was acting rather peculiarly. I thought it might be hurt so went closer to have a look. It waggled it's tail feathers but didn't move. Odd methought.
Anyway, took a picture and left it alone. Discovered that it's a young fulmar, and that when they get chucked out of the nest (literally) they're too fat to fly, so they kind of hang around till they lose a bit of weight. Also learned that when they feel threatened they spit a stinky oily goo all over you. I was lucky there then.
It's still there, be interesting to see when it finally gets airborne. Had a little robin on the window ledge too; I think he must get fed by the holiday people, so I did likewise
