London Loop Stage 16
Another walk today to take advantage of the weather. For those of you who have been following closely you may have wondered what has happened to Stage 15. Well the plan was to do Stage 15 today but problems with the train prevented us getting to the walk start point.
So this walk is one of the longest on the Loop from Elstree ( famous for its film studios ) to Cockfosters with a handy Tube station to get home.
Almost 11 miles covered (18km) with some long climbs. We came to loath the word “undulating” in the guide book.
There are some beautiful stretches on this section but it was not one of my favourites. We had to follow a six lane highway for half a mile to find a subway to get to the other side and then walk back a half mile to rejoin the Loop. Tedious springs to mind. There was a lot of rubbish is places. Such a shame people are so disrespectful of their environment.
One item that had been dumped many years ago was a motorcycle - the subject of today’s blip. Took the shot in mono. Looks like a battle site or a forensic scene.
