Manchester Ship Canal

There were a lot of con-trails visible on this rare thing - a sunny day. The reflections in the water were interesting. How much cargo has passed through this narrow channel over the last 100 or so years?

I grew up very near it and remember the Manchester Liners ships which went to Canada - the pulse of the engines made the windows vibrate in our house. I was back there today to see my Dad.
