Love a Shire Horse

I do love a shire horse, and there were 6 pairs of them with carts and 6 being ridden at the Sandringham Game and Country Fair today. They were quite splendid, I love their 'hairy legs' in particular. One was being a bit feisty and threw it's rider, but all were ok. They paraded round to the accompaniment of proms music. 

As well as the shire horses, I watched a falconry display, a motor cycle stunt duo (twins!) and something I haven't been seen before - a horse and rider tearing round a course pulling a person on a skateboard behind them. Obviously there were also shopping opportunities, although it's less 'crafty' than the other fairs at Sandringham.

'Strictly' is back on tv.....it's like being wrapped in a warm, cosy blanket!
