Golden Beetroot.

Visitors are great - not just for obvious reasons, but it gets the house nice and clean and it makes for a nice change in meals. 

Today was obsessive salads.  A first-thing allotment to trip to get potatoes, tomatoes, courgettes, beetroot and more, then a rush around the shops, then lots of chopping, lunch.

Also very pleasant to have somebody interested in a trip to the allotment after lunch, which was idyllic, and where an 11-year old, 8 year old and 5 year old dug spuds and picked blackberries.
