Before leaving the Aire we walked around the village coming across models of the tank and plane at the war memorial.

Later, on to St Nazaire to look at this submarine built just after WW2, my first close up to look at and around a sub, a fascinating experience, and hard to imagine a group of men living in such close proximity. Afterwards a climb up to the roof top to view the surrounding shipbuilding area and look down at the submarine pens.

The extra shows a large area of painted triangles, I tried to stand in the right place to line them all but they are not all in line. A clever piece of art work across a number of buildings.
