old boiler/new boiler

The title was Anniemay's idea of a joke.  I would never refer to her as an old boiler.

We're having a coffee after visiting the new house.  Anniemay is deep in thought (a) waiting for her coffee and (b) contemplating the good news and the not so good news.

The new boiler has been installed along with all the electrics (see extras).  Which is good.

The other news is that during the previous night, someone had broken into the site and stolen the mains supply cable.  So the builders have no power.

"Worse things happen at sea" as my old mother would say, when confronted with calamity.  Although she never really explained what those worse things were.  And I was too young to question it.
