The Last Time

Today I did my last butterfly survey of the year at Longshaw. It's been a difficult week to pick a good day for it, and even though the forecast was not too promising, I decided to go for it, as it was our late Summer get together for staff and volunteers. Killing two birds with one stone. Although it was quite a bit cooler than of late, and there was quite a breeze, the sun shone for me and I saw more butterflies than I'd expected, including 5 Painted Ladies, this rather dishevelled Green-veined White (my first photo of one  this year, I think) and a new one for me at Longshaw - a couple of Common Blues.
