Not like mum’s

Well, no. The supermarket own label steak and kidney pudding was not quite as I remember those that mother used to make in days of my youth.
For a start, I thought there was little evidence of any kidney in the pud, and the suet crust fell quite a bit short of what I remember.
But for all that, here was a ready made steak and kidney pie, and I couldn’t resist the sight of it on the supermarket shelf.
And a a quick meal, reviving memories of home cooking like mum made it was quite acceptable. Not sure that Mrs F would agree, however!
