Green carpet moth

I love green things and this Green carpet moth Colostygia pectinataria is no exception. It is a common little moth that occupies a range of habitats. Here in the south it is double brooded, and on the wing from May to early July and again in August and September. Only fresh specimens display the beautiful green colour as it quickly fades to a dull beige/ brown.
