Dean Village, Edinburgh

Today we walked from Slateford along the Water of Leith, passing Stenhouse, Murrayfield, The Gallery of Modern Art, Dean Village, Stockbridge, Royal Botanic Gardens, Warriston, and on to Leith itself. The weather was dry and at times sunny, and we found the walk very interesting although walking through a pathway in a city is not what we usually do. Dean Village is a most interesting and historic place, in the seventeenth century it had eleven water driven mills, and the old buildings are really interesting and very attractive.

Had a nice break at Leith (in a pub of course) for an hour or so before heading home. First walk of the year, and a cracker.
