What mug for the AA man?
I have a bit of a thing for mugs and each time I drink tea (which is often) I take great care to select the mug that most fits my mood.
Therefore when someone comes to visit I often take a while to assess my visitor, gauge their mood and select the mug from which I believe they'll enjoy their cuppa the most.
However, the AA man is not here for warmth and companionship. He's here to work out why the key won't work in the car. Therefore mug selection for his cuppa comes down more to practicality than attachment or empathy.
Obviously I can't give him the 'B' mug because he's from the AA and that would just be wrong.
My mum mugs are not for anyone else's use, not even my own mum's.
My bird/motto mugs are too new and AA man is working outside in the rain - I don't want them broken.
The Le Crueset mug is too expensive to risk.
I'm far too attached to my hamster mug which cools tea quicker than an ordinary shaped mug - ideal for when I'm desperate to drink my cuppa.
The London bus one was a pressie from hubby - he ain't having that.
It's down to the Christmas mug or the plain blue glass one. I don't like that plain glass one and hubby's worried the AA man will think he loves him if he gives him the Christmas mug with a heart on.
I'm willing to risk hubby's reputation - Christmas mug it is!
