experiment

Today has been an experimenting day I have been out and about outdoors taking random pictures as there has been no rain today.
I have been trying out the raw file format over the past week seeing what it was like , im not sure about it as the file sizes are around 22 meg and after playing around with the images there does not sem to be alot in it apart from the exposure compensation option which is good ,I feel like its cheating moving the sliders up and down as I got into photography again to try and take better pics myself and not have to edit them. I have been experimenting alot and can achive very simiar results with jpeg fine so im unconvinced at the moment .
If anyone else has any advice id be gratefull
