Made in China

Our grocery stores should not be crowded with chintzy, overpriced articles made in China. That's why I'm always peeling back the labels where they hide the country of origin. Are they ashamed to be selling this junk? They ought to be.

New Seasons Market, which is loaded with low quality Chinese pottery, also sells wonderful handmade Japanese ceramics. They can't seem to tell the difference! Lately the Chinese have been disguising their inferior merchandise by giving it a Japanese name and copying Japanese styles. Usually a quick glance is enough to give the fakes away, but to make sure, I always peel back the label.
